Skanska USA Appoints Michelle Santoro as Director of Business Development in Philadelphia

Skanska USA, one of the world’s leading construction and development companies, announced the hire of Michelle Santoro as Director of Business Development in its Philadelphia office.

Santoro joins an expanded business team under Sai Yerrapathruni, Vice President of Business Development, in an effort to grow Skanska’s presence in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Together they will drive Skanska’s pursuit of opportunities in the healthcare, life sciences, education, commercial, infrastructure, and industrial market sectors.

An Oreland, Pennsylvania resident, Santoro brings eight years of diverse experience in marketing, consulting, and business development in the construction and real estate industries. Prior to Skanska, she spent two years working as the Director of Business Development with Ewing Cole. Prior to that Santoro was an independent business development consultant offering sales and marketing services in the architecture, engineering and construction industry. She also served as a Business Development Associate at HSC Builders & Construction Managers.

“Michelle’s industry experience, paired with her local contacts and market expertise, will help support Skanska’s efforts to expand our growing footprint in the Greater Philadelphia region,” said Skanska USA Executive Vice President and General Manager, Ed Szwarc.

Santoro received her Bachelors of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing from Widener University and is a Certified Professional Services Marketer. She serves as Director of Professional Development on the Board of SMPS New York; Vice President Marketing & Communications on the Board of ISPE Delaware Valley; and is a member of SCUP Mid- Atlantic and CREW Philadelphia.

Skanska’s building experience in the Philadelphia/New Jersey/Delaware region includes such projects as the Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pavilion Addition at the Franklin Institute, University of Delaware East Campus Residence Hall, SugarHouse Casino, Inspira Healthcare Network, Christiana Care Health Systems Women and Children’s Health Building, American Airlines Terminal F expansion and baggage claim at Philadelphia International Airport, and the Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children.
