The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia Picks up Lead Sponsor for Series Presenting Nonpartisan Views on Today’s Toughest Issues

The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia – a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization and premier public policy platform ? announced that it will debut season two of The Whole Truth, a 30-minute program featuring varying guest panelists to explore the weightiest current public affairs. The season premiere will air on February 26, with Visit Philadelphia joining the partnership lineup as its lead sponsor.

“Partnering with the region’s official tourism marketing agency allows us to build even deeper roots in the Philadelphia area while continuing to spread our message across the nation for a second season,” said Craig Snyder, President and CEO of The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia. “Visit Philadelphia represents the passionate culture of Philadelphia, and we are excited to partner with another civic organization whose goal is to promote our region.”

The second season of The Whole Truth will hold discussions on topics including former president Obama’s legacy in world affairs, the challenges and opportunities of demographics for the American future, and technology in the 21st century.

"Spirited conversations about our country--in the statehouse and the taverns--were the norm in Philly in the 1700s,” said Meryl Levitz, President and CEO of Visit Philadelphia. “And they're still happening in Philadelphia's Historic District, along those same streets. Highlighting this connection to history makes us a natural partner for The Whole Truth."

In addition to Visit Philadelphia, the full list of sponsors includes The Mill Spring Foundation, The Doran Family Foundation, AMETEK, The Satell Institute: A Think Tank for Corporate Responsibility, UGI/Amerigas, The Stan and Arlene Ginsburg Family Foundation, and David and Jacqui Griffith.

The Whole Truth, broadcast locally on WHYY, with WHYY serving as the presenting station for the national distribution of the series by American Public Television, is hosted by David Eisenhower – historian, author, professor and grandson of former President Dwight D. Eisenhower.  In its first season, The Whole Truth aired on public television stations in 80 U.S. markets, in 31 states, including 2/3rds of the largest 25 markets.  It is the first national television series produced by a Philadelphia organization in decades.
