ExpressCare Opens 30th Urgent Care Facility With Newest Location In Mt. Airy Section Of Carroll County, Maryland

3/7/17

Locally-owned urgent care center, which partners with LifeBridge Health, intends to open approximately ten new locations within next year, with focus on Pennsylvania and Delaware

ExpressCare, a locally-owned chain of urgent care facilities, has opened its 30th location in the Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware region with its newest unit at 504 E. Ridgeville Boulevard in the Mt. Airy section of Carroll County, Maryland. The urgent care concept, which maintains a strategic partnership with LifeBridge Health, offers urgent medical treatment for illnesses and injuries, physical therapy, sports physicals and work-related injury services. ExpressCare is open seven days a week and requires no appointment.

This latest location, which represents the third in Carroll County, is positioned within the Mt. Airy Health and Wellness Pavilion. The site features roadside visibility from MD Route 27 (Ridge Road) and is adjacent to the intersection of MD Route 40 (Baltimore National Pike) and Interstate 70. ExpressCare expects to expand by approximately ten units within the next twelve months, with a concentration in the Delaware and Pennsylvania marketplaces.

“This facility within the Mt. Airy Health and Wellness Pavilion is extremely strategic, as it allows immediate interaction with numerous primary care physicians and pediatricians, as well as offering our patients access to multiple healthcare specialists,” stated Maurice Reid, M.D., the CEO and chief medical officer of ExpressCare. “It fills an important gap in our coverage of Carroll County and, given the site’s close proximity to major highways, enables area residents to quickly access our brand and range of services from a large radius.”

Drake Zaharris, Esq., Member; Gregory Weiner, Esq., Member and Pessin Katz Law, P.A. (PK Law) represented ExpressCare in this leasing transaction and provide acquisition, operations and general legal consultation to the company.

“The urgent care category continues to rapidly expand both locally and nationally as consumers recognize the time-savings and overall high quality of care that are provided by this healthcare model,” explained Gregory S. Weiner of PK Law. “The excellent reputation of LifeBridge Health brings increased credibility and visibility to ExpressCare. The urgent care company has quickly established a strong and highly-visible brand throughout the region with prominently-located sites, coupled with the achievement of successful medical outcomes.”

“We see significant opportunities in Delaware and Pennsylvania, as we believe these areas are extremely underserved by the urgent care concept, and our immediate growth will occur in these markets,” Dr. Reid added. “Time is among the most valuable and closely-guarded assets of consumers and our healthcare option provides a viable alternative to the emergency room and other providers.”
