Arthur Brinkworth Joins IMC Construction as Project Director

5/10/17

Veteran healthcare construction professional Arthur A. Brinkworth, PE, joined IMC Construction April 24, 2017 as a project director. With 32 years of experience, including 25 in healthcare facilities management for institutions including Nemours Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Brinkworth will immediately lend his skills and expertise to oversee IMC’s ongoing healthcare projects.

As an executive-level project director, Brinkworth will report to IMC CEO Robert Cottone. “Art’s depth of experience in healthcare facilities and construction management will be an asset to IMC and our clients,” said Cottone. “Art has managed teams and projects on behalf of major healthcare institutions, so he understands the owner’s objectives. His perspective will enhance our collaborative services.”

“I’ve spent the last 25 years of my career on the institutional side,” said Brinkworth. “I look forward to the opportunity to manage and grow IMC’s healthcare practice with the extensive technical background and emphasis on quality, cost control, and lean construction that my past work provided.”

The new hire bolsters IMC’s healthcare expertise to support a growing portfolio. The company has completed medical projects for the University of Pennsylvania Health System, Penn Medicine, Main Line Health, Fox Chase Crozier-Keystone Cancer Partnership, Community Volunteers in Medicine, and Phoenixville Hospital.

Brinkworth spent eight years as corporate construction manager for Nemours Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children where he managed the award-winning $288 million 200-bed pediatric inpatient tower expansion, a $158 million infrastructure project, and $350 million in master plan renovations. Prior to that role, Brinkworth spent 18 years with The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, including as assistant director of project management. His early experience includes six years as an engineering design professional concentrating on institutional infrastructure.

Brinkworth holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and National Fire Protection Association.
