Carnegie Science Center Honors CEO of Wombat Security Technologies with 'Entrepreneur of the Year' Award

Wombat Security Technologies (Wombat), the leading provider of cyber security awareness and training, today announces its CEO Joe Ferrara has been named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by Carnegie Science Center. Joe receives this coveted award for leading Wombat's mission to reduce security risk among organizations of all sizes through comprehensive security awareness training and assessment programs. The formal awards celebration was held Friday night at Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland, Pa.

"Under Joe's leadership, Wombat has quickly become an industry leader in security awareness and training products, while also becoming a shining example of Pittsburgh's strength in entrepreneurship, technological innovation and research excellence," said president & CEO of one of the nation's most active early-stage investors, Innovation Works, Richard Lunak, who nominated Ferrara for Entrepreneur of the Year. Earlier this year, Wombat reported 100 percent growth compared to the previous year, exceeding its order, revenue and customer targets in 2016. The company's growth has continued to accelerate in the first few months of 2017 due to rapid new customer adoption of its proven product platform. Wombat will host customers and security awareness professionals later this year in Pittsburgh at their 3rd annual Wombat Wisdom Conference September 13-14, 2017.
