Real estate platform Houwzer, founded by Benjamin’s Desk cofounder Mike Maher, just raised a $2 million seed round from local investors.

The company has $1.6 million of funding already closed, with the remainder of the round scheduled to close on June 1. The investment was led by Jay Minkoff, announced last January as “chairman, lead investor and operating partner” and with participation from local players like Ben Franklin Technology Partners.

“We’re going to leverage on this to penetrate the Greater Philadelphia region and we’ll be expanding to at least one more major metro area in the next twelve months,” Maher told Technical.ly.
