The Northeast Council of Carpenters (NRCC) today announced the appointment of Tony Bianchini as the Director of Communications. Bianchini has more than 17 years of experience in public affairs, public relations, social media, corporate communications, media relations, grassroots advocacy, crisis communications, marketing and community relations for Fortune 500 corporations, government agencies, trade unions, newspapers/websites and public relations agencies.
"We are excited to have Tony join our team to promote union membership and raise awareness of important workers' rights issues impacting union members and frankly all hardworking professional individuals across the United States," said John Ballantyne, NRCC's Executive Secretary-Treasurer. "Tony's years of experience in helping to generate publicity and raise awareness for important social justice and worker issues will be of great importance to our organization."
Prior to joining NRCC, Bianchini served as the Vice President at H&G Public Affairs, based in Yardley, PA. At H&G, he developed public affairs, community relations and crisis management programs for clients in the utility/energy, chemical and manufacturing industries. Before H&G, he served as the Director of Public Affairs at Open Door Media, where he was responsible for providing communications, public affairs, public relations, media relations, social media, grassroots advocacy and crisis communications for government agencies, non-profit organizations and public companies.
"I am extremely honored that the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters selected me to help raise awareness for important workers' rights issues like protecting the prevailing wage, shedding the light on employee misclassification and preventing the repeal of the Bacon-Davis Act," said Bianchini. "All of these issues impact not only members of our union, but all workers across the nation. Only by raising awareness of these issues can we truly protect all hardworking Americans from being taken advantage of by their employers."
Bianchini's previous experience includes public relations expertise with clients in the government, technology, engineering, environmental and global trade industries. In his various positions, he has created public relations, communications and marketing campaigns that increased name recognition and regional exposure for clients.
Bianchini is the Co-Chair of the Southern New Jersey Development Council's Government Affairs Committee. He received a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2000. Bianchini is the proud father of two girls and resides in Hunterdon County, NJ.
