Navigating the professional world is tough. There are so many unwritten rules they don’t tell you about while you’re in college and then suddenly you graduate and officially become an adult, but haven’t quite mastered developing personally let alone deciphering what exactly professional development means.

As a millennial currently going through the struggle I feel your pain. School was supposed to make us smart and well-rounded individuals, however, we never really had classes that allowed for the development of practical skillsets like networking and figuring out how to pay back your student loans while also being able to save for retirement and afford groceries.

It’s something many millennials make harder on themselves by trying to go at it alone — and I’ll admit, I tried that too. However, asking for help doesn’t make you weak. It’s actually very important to surround yourself with excellent mentors and peers that will give you the motivation and encouragement needed to elevate yourself to the next level.
