Momentum Builds as Hopeful Entrepreneurs Gear up for International Franchise Expo in NYC June 15-17

PARAMUS, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--According to the ADP National Franchise Report, in the first five months of 2017 the franchise industry added more than 70,300 jobs. As economic optimism continues to rise and the franchise industry outpaces non-franchise business for the seventh consecutive year, prospective business owners from the United States and around the globe are gearing up for the industry’s biggest event.

The 26th annual International Franchise Expo (IFE), held June 15-17 at the Javits Center in New York City, gives entrepreneurs the chance to meet face-to-face with representatives of more than 400 top franchise brands. This year’s event will offer a look into the hottest trends in the franchise industry as attendees explore the vast emerging and mature franchise opportunities, both domestic and international, ranging anywhere from $10,000 up to $1 million. Attendees can also take advantage of more than 85 educational programs and 10 in-depth workshops in addition to one-on-one consulting, exclusive financial discounts, and notable small business speakers.

“This is the place to be for anyone who has ever dreamed about going into business for themselves, just not by themselves. The IFE strives to provide a no-pressure, educational atmosphere for anyone curious about if franchising is right for them,” said Tom Portesy, president and CEO of MFV Expositions. “There is a world of opportunity out there, and we invite everyone to utilize the resources available at the expo and learn how to achieve financial freedom while changing their lives.”

The IFE will kick off with an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting at 9:45a.m. on June 15 in the lobby of the Javits Center. During this time, Robert Cresanti, president and CEO of the International Franchise Association (IFA), and Shelly Sun, co-founder and CEO of BrightStar Care and chairwoman of the IFA, will welcome guests to New York and speak on the franchise industry. Doors will open to the thousands of entrepreneurs who are ready to get on the fast track to owning a small business by meeting face-to-face with high-level franchisor executives immediately following the ribbon cutting. Over the years, the expo has proven to be a life-changing event for a number of prospective investors.

“My partner and I were looking to get out of our current business and were searching for new opportunities at the International Franchise Expo. It was then we came across CruiseOne/Dream Vacations and were truly impressed with the brand’s professionalism and ability to answer our ownership questions,” said Carie Skerritt, CruiseOne/Dream Vacations franchise owner in Hightstown, NJ. “In the end, I am thrilled with my purchase. The process was simple and painless. Franchise ownership allowed me to pursue my passion and gain control over my career – now I enjoy my role as a travel franchise owner and vacation specialist.”

The IFE costs $10 to register in advance and $20 at the door. However, those who register at www.IFEinfo.com and use promo code FPR1 will receive a complimentary pass.

The IFE is sponsored by the IFA and assisted by the U.S. Department of Commerce/U.S. Commercial Service. The IFE is owned and operated by MFV Expositions, producers of shows in the United States, Mexico, Spain, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
