Stradley Ronon White-Collar Defense Practice Group Chair Michael J. Engle served as a co-panelist for “Ethical Challenges in Criminal Defense and Prosecution” at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s Criminal Law Symposium on June 9 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Engle discussed the issues most commonly faced by criminal defense practitioners in handling evidence obtained from a client, financial matters, cash reporting compliance and dealing with potential issues of perjury. The presentation examined practical ethics guidance for criminal lawyers.

Engle has more than 15 years of experience in federal criminal cases, complex white-collar defense matters, and internal or parallel investigations on behalf of corporations and other entities. He has represented white-collar defendants in complex, high-stakes federal and state prosecutions and has guided corporations and other organizations through the intricacies of government investigations. Engle has defended individuals and businesses in connection with grand jury subpoenas and in numerous jury trials.
