NAI James E. Hanson, a leading New Jersey-based full-service commercial real estate firm, has announced that its President, William C. Hanson, SIOR, was recognized by the Foundation for Free Enterprise (FFFE) as their Entrepreneur of the Year and inducted into their Hall of Fame at a luncheon held today at The Stony Hill Inn in Hackensack. The Entrepreneur of the Year award recognizes business leaders who have made notable business achievements in the last year and have been integral in furthering the mission and philosophy of the Foundation for Free Enterprise.

Since its inception in 1975, The FFFE has sought to inspire and educate children and young adults to learn, understand and appreciate the principles of free enterprise and entrepreneurship, in order for them to influence the future concerning free market economics, limited government, individual self-reliance, and preservation of the entrepreneurial spirit. FFFE holds a wide range of education programs throughout the year for students ages 10-18 featuring local business leaders to prepare students to face the challenges of tomorrow.

Hanson has participated in and lead a wide range of activities with FFFE including their annual Evening with Executives Dinner, where local students are given the chance to speak with and learn from executives from a diverse set of industries. He has also served as the FFFE Chairman for four years, helping to grow the organization during his tenure and reach more students with educational programming. He will be joining notable recent inductees into the FFFE Hall of Fame including Robert C. Garrett, Hackensack University Medical Center, Thomas Marino, J.H. Cohn LLP, Joseph Simunovich, United Water, Robert & Peter Unanue, GOYA Foods, Inc., J. Fletcher Creamer, Creamer & Son, Inc., and Charles P. Shotmeyer, Shotmeyer Bros., Inc.

“I am humbled that the Foundation for Free Enterprise has chosen to recognize me as this year’s Entrepreneur of the Year,” said Hanson. “For over 30 years, the FFFE has been instrumental in educating the State’s students on the multitude of benefits of free enterprise and instilling in them the skills that will serve them in their future career paths. I am honored to have worked with them in accomplishing this noble mission and am looking forward to continuing my work with the organization to inspire the next generation of business leaders.”

“When choosing our Entrepreneur of the Year, we think of the business leaders who embody the values espoused by our organization and those who actively seek to engage with and teach the next generation the principles of the free market,” said Kathryn English, President of the FFFE. “This was an easy task for us this year as few people embody the mission and philosophy of the FFFE through their leadership, advocacy and mentorship more than Bill Hanson. We look forward to Bill’s continued contributions to the Foundation for Free Enterprise as we continue to promote the value and strength of the free market system and congratulate him on being inducted into the FFFE Hall of Fame.”
