Grant Thornton Expands Forensic Advisory Services in Philadelphia

Grant Thornton LLP grows its Forensic Advisory Services practice with the addition of Anthony Creamer, Christopher Hanson, Brian Sullivan and Scott Peoples. Based in Philadelphia, the group strengthens Grant Thornton’s litigation, investigation, accounting control review, compliance, and valuation and bankruptcy-related service offerings.

“Anthony and his team boast tremendous forensic accounting acumen with deep roots in the Atlantic Coast region,” said Fred Kohm, practice leader of Grant Thornton’s Forensic Advisory Services practice in Philadelphia. “Their international experience will be invaluable to our clients, and will also help drive the continued growth of the firm’s forensic services capabilities.”

Creamer has nearly 40 years of experience in forensic services, leading large multi-national investigations, restatements and commercial litigation efforts, including a history of successful testimony in large value disputes. He joins Grant Thornton from Navigant Consulting, Inc., where he opened the firm’s Philadelphia office in 2002. Prior to Navigant, he was a partner at Arthur Andersen & Co.

Creamer is a certified public accountant (CPA) in Pennsylvania, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the AICPA. He received a master’s degree in accounting and finance from Drexel University and a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.

In addition, Grant Thornton has added three other professionals to bolster the firm’s forensic services:

  • Christopher Hanson – Hanson joins as a Forensic Advisory Services director.  He has more than 20 years of experience providing consulting and expert testimony in litigation. He has led teams of consultants in forensic and fraud investigations, bankruptcies and debt restructuring-related engagements. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and received a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania. Most of Hanson’s early career was at Arthur Andersen & Co. and he was most recently a director at Navigant.
  • Brian Sullivan – Sullivan joins as a Forensic Advisory Services director. He has 20 years of experience providing consulting in complex disputes as well as leading special accounting investigations and restatements. He has conducted reviews for clients to test the adequacy of policies, procedures and internal controls to prevent violations of federal securities laws. Sullivan’s experience includes extensive work in financial services, healthcare, investment management, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and software. He is a CPA and a Chartered Financial Analyst. Sullivan received a bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations from The University of Pennsylvania.  He began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. and was most recently a director at Navigant.
  • Scott Peoples – Peoples joins as a Forensic Advisory Services senior manager.  He has nearly 15 years of consulting experience in complex financial analysis, valuation, litigation, investigation and bankruptcy-related services, and has led large teams of consultants in data and document intensive engagements. Peoples is both a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Valuation Analyst. Peoples received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Drexel University and joins Grant Thornton from Navigant.
