Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that market research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan recognized the Unisys Stealth® suite of security software with its 2017 North American Customer Value Leadership Award.
The award, based on Frost & Sullivan's recent analysis of the automated encrypted network security solution market, cited Unisys Stealth as outstanding for its use of micro-segmentation, encryption, authentication and authorization techniques to protect an organization's valuable data whether in data centers, any cloud or on PCs, mobile devices and industrial control systems. In 2016, Unisys Stealth was evaluated and accredited by the National Information Assurance Partnership as among the products eligible for use by governments in more than 20 countries to protect their most sensitive systems and information.
Unisys Stealth software delivers micro-segmentation across entire extended enterprises to easily create secure communities of interest (COI) within an organization where only authorized users can access information, while cloaking machines, data, users and even the segment itself from both external and insider threats.
"Unisys Stealth enhances security through the micro-segmentation of networks using cryptographic techniques. Its unique COI feature creates user groups within the enterprise that are invisible to hackers and unauthorized personnel who do not have matching COI keys," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Ram Ravi. "This aids secure data communication and enables Unisys to effectively isolate, encrypt, and cloak networks. Unlike other solutions that are based on topologies, Unisys Stealth is designed on the principles of authentication and authorization, ultimately concealing the networks from prying eyes."
"As top brands all over the world adopt Stealth, Unisys is expected to grow further and establish itself as a market leader," Ravi added.
This recognition from Frost & Sullivan is the latest in a series of third-party validations of the Unisys approach to security. In May 2017, Unisys announced that analyst firm NelsonHall named the company as an overall market segment leader in the NelsonHall Evaluation & Assessment Tool (NEAT) Vendor Evaluation for Managed Security Services report. A month earlier, the company announced that another analyst firm, HfS Research, named the company to the "Winner's Circle" in its report evaluating managed security services providers.
"The growing list of third-party awards and recognition of Stealth confirms and validates our approach to securing our clients' most critical networks and data," said Tarek El-Sadany, senior vice president and chief technology officer at Unisys. "As noted by Frost & Sullivan, Unisys offers a strong alternative to perimeter-based security by combining the principles of encryption and identity-based micro-segmentation to help prevent intrusions and limit damage if intruders get in."
Earlier in 2017, Unisys announced that its client Flowserve – one of the world's leading providers of fluid motion and control products and services – won a 2017 CSO50 Award from publisher IDG's CSO for its successful implementation of micro-segmentation security protection using Stealth software.
"This recognition of Unisys Stealth by Frost & Sullivan represents further market validation of the security value that we provide to our clients," said Tom Patterson, chief trust officer at Unisys. "As the sophistication of malware and cyberattacks continues to increase, Unisys Stealth has advanced capabilities that make it faster, easier, less expensive and more effective to defend the modern enterprise. Through a comprehensive security offering that includes Unisys Stealth micro-segmentation, identity and analytics, plus global managed services and targeted security consulting, Unisys is a trusted partner helping clients solve their complex security challenges."
