Matt Tierney will lead the Grant Thornton global insurance services industry group, it was announced today. Grant Thornton is a global accounting, tax and advisory business with member firms operating in more than 130 countries.

In this role, Tierney will work with Grant Thornton member firm insurance practise leaders on how to best service the needs of large insurance companies, unlocking their potential for growth.

“I am very excited to take on the role,” said Tierney. “Grant Thornton is well-suited to help the insurance industry, which faces many challenges, including the need for greater operational efficiency and incorporating technology. The pressure on insurance companies to thrive in a new age of customer acquisition and engagement will require significant investment in both areas to help them stay relevant.”

Tierney will remain based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
