Eye Care Leaders, a company that provides ophthalmic and optometric practice solutions, announced Monday morning it will be acquiring iMedicWare Inc., a company that offers software solutions for ophthalmology practices and ambulatory surgery centers.

Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

iMedicWare is provides software specifically designed for ophthalmologists. The Freehold, New Jersey-based company began in 2006 when a group of leading physicians representing all the ophthalmic sub-specialties worked together to create efficient, paperless solutions for ophthalmology.

Arun Kapur, chief executive officer and founder of iMedicWare, will head Eye Care Leader’s technology solutions portfolio following the acquisition, which will encompass EHR, practice management and other software.

iMedicWare will provide the technology platform necessary for Eye Care Leaders to offer a fully-integrated solution following the acquisition.
