Hainesport Transportation Group Names John Decina, LEED AP, Director of Sales

HAINESPORT, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--John Decina, LEED AP, has been named Director of Sales for the Hainesport Transportation Group (HTG), it was announced today by Darryl Caplan, HTG’s Founder and Managing Director.

In his new role, Decina will oversee sales efforts for HTG’s portfolio of companies including Hainesport Transfer, Champion Disposal and R&B Debris.

“John’s stellar credentials in the LEED field bring new opportunities to our companies,” said Caplan. “With decades of experience as project manager on several LEED projects, his experience with solid waste, hazardous waste, and recycling efforts will now allow us to expand our capabilities in the marketplace, serving additional customers and assisting with LEED program success.”

LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification.

Among other LEED projects in which he was involved, Decina co-authored the Construction Waste Management Plan for the 9/11 National Museum & Memorial.

“Joining HTG will allow me to bring my knowledge of LEED projects to customers of several of our subsidiary companies,” said Decina. “My role is to build and then oversee the LEED recycling systems to help our customers maximize their success on any LEED projects.”

Under Decina’s leadership, the company will offer LEED services including customized construction waste management plans, IAQ Plans, and LEED template submittals.

Decina has been designated as a Training Provider by the State of NJ's Labor & Workforce Development and has instructed the NJ Building Trades in LEED principals and other related sustainable building systems. He is also a member of the Delaware Valley and New Jersey chapters of the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

The Hainesport Transportation Group (HTG), focuses on the needs of companies transporting and disposing of solid waste streams. A privately-held entity, its core focus is the ownership of waste companies located in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and/or Delaware which may be integrated into its transportation and waste transfer platform. HTG is the parent company of Champion Disposal, Hainesport Secondary Railroad, Hainesport Transfer, Hamilton Shingle, R&B Debris, and USE&L.
