Lawrence Stadulis and George Michael Gerstein
Stradley Ronon Partner Lawrence P. Stadulis and Counsel George Michael Gerstein presented to clients and friends of the firm via conference call, “The DOL, the SEC and the States: Fiduciary Law Developments,” on Oct. 17. The briefing discussed the latest on the dynamic fiduciary law developments, including the DOL fiduciary rule and the impending Nevada regulations. Stadulis and Gerstein presented on behalf of Stradley Ronon’s new working group, Federal and State Fiduciary Laws Working Group, which is a collaboration of Stradley Ronon investment adviser, broker-dealer and ERISA lawyers tracking and analyzing legal developments pertaining to standards of care at the federal and state levels.
Stadulis advises clients in matters pertaining to the registration and regulation of investment advisers and investment companies under federal and state securities laws. He also manages related issues pertaining to investment advisers and investment companies, including matters involving ERISA, broker-dealer regulation and banking laws. Stadulis is a frequent lecturer and author on legal matters pertaining to the investment management industry.
With experience working at two large financial institutions, Gerstein concentrates on the fiduciary and prohibited transaction provisions of ERISA as they apply to the investment and management of plan assets. He’s been heavily focused on the DOL Fiduciary Rule and otherwise assisting clients with ERISA compliance strategies. Gerstein is routinely interviewed by the financial press, and has most recently been quoted in the Wall Street Journal regarding DOL regulatory developments. He recently penned an op-ed for Pensions & Investments regarding the importance of fiduciaries to be aware of the new FX Global Code, and he has a forthcoming article in Bloomberg BNA on the fiduciary implications of climate change.
