The Philadelphia Eagles recognized placekicker David Akers for his accomplishments in a Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony presented by Santander Bank. The ceremony took place during halftime of the Monday Night Football matchup between Washington and the Eagles on October 23rd.

Santander Bank’s Director of Community Partnerships Julie Vetack and Regional Director of Business Banking Jim Wujcik were onsite to congratulate Akers following his induction. Akers joined 42 other Eagles stars who have been inducted into the franchise’s Hall of Fame.

Santander is the Official Bank of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Presenting Partner of the Eagles Legends Community.

Akers, who played for the Eagles from 1999 to 2010, is considered to be the greatest kicker in franchise history, holding the team’s all-time record for most regular-season (188) and post-season (19) games played, while also appearing in five Pro Bowls, the most by any kicker in franchise history. His induction into the Eagles Hall of Fame honors his achievements with the team as well as his broader contributions to the Greater Philadelphia community, including the establishment of the David Akers Kicks for Kids Foundation, which assists families with unexpected emergency needs.
