Kathryn N. Slade
Kathryn N. Sladehas joined Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin as an associate in the firm’s Jacksonville office. A member of theProfessional Liability Department, she focuses her practice on first party property defense and construction defect defense.
Ms. Slade previously served as staff counsel for GEICO, defending the company and its insureds in uninsured motorist and bodily injury liability cases. She also worked as outside counsel for an insurance defense firm in Jacksonville, representing insurers and individual clients in the areas of coverage analysis, first party property claims analysis, bodily injury, uninsured motorist, and premises liability. Additionally, she worked for a defense firm in Pensacolarepresenting insurers in first party property claims arising from Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis.
As an active member of the legal community, Ms. Slade is involved with the Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel and the Military Spouse JD Network. She has also taught several courses at Florida Coastal School of Law, covering topics such as legal research and analysis as well as pre-trial litigation drafting.
Ms. Slade received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Asian Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her juris doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Middle and NorthernDistricts of Florida.
