Margaret Worek Caroccia Named SVP of Operations for Health Partners Plans

Margaret Worek Caroccia, a veteran health care leader with extensive experience in start-up and growth ventures in Medicaid managed care and Medicare Advantage, has joined Health Partners Plans (HPP) as Senior Vice President of Operations. Caroccia reports to Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer Eric Huss.

In her role, Caroccia provides leadership and strategic direction for daily operations while overseeing claims, enrollment and member relations for Medicare (Health Partners Medicare), Medicaid (Health Partners) and CHIP (KidzPartners). She also implements and oversees best practices to consistently increase operational efficiencies and to enhance HPP’s high member satisfaction ratings.

“Margaret has a proven track record in managing multi-million dollar projects in system implementations, provider negotiations and contracting, as well as launching new Medicare Advantage and Medicaid plans in multiple states,” Huss said. “I look forward to her leadership as we continue to strengthen our operations and member outcomes, while offering our highly rated health plans in new markets.”

Before joining HPP, Caroccia spent 25 years at Gateway Health Plan where she most recently served as vice president of operations, responsible for implementing and improving operational performance. Her earlier positions include serving as vice president of operations and provider networks and vice president of HMIS Operations and Business Development.

Caroccia holds a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Science degree also from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, she has been a Diplomate in the American College of Healthcare Executives since 1994. Caroccia currently resides in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
