On Friday, November 17, HPF and HPP teamed up to donate 300 baskets brimming with non-perishable foods, pantry staples and a Shop Rite gift card to 25 community organizations, including One Day at a Time (ODAAT), a local nonprofit program that provides recovery, HIV/AIDS and homeless shelter services to thousands of residential clients each year.

ODAAT received 60 gift baskets for community members along with16 sets of sheets, blankets and pillows; several coffee makers and 2,000 disposable plates and cutlery sets for ODAAT’s newest 16-bed women’s shelter. “Many organizations talk about helping the community, but Health Partners Plans and the foundation actually came to the hood to help us today. We are so grateful for the love, the baskets, gift cards and for just being willing to come out to us and support us,” said Mel Wells, president of ODAAT.

“There is a great need for help in the communities we serve,” said Staci Scott, HPF executive director, “and I’m happy to know that Health Partners Foundation is playing a significant part in transforming communities, one neighborhood at a time.”
