The Washington Memorial Chapel and The Washington Memorial Heritage have announced that they are joining forces with the Valley Forge Park Alliance to host a special evening with Lawrence Babits, professor of Maritime Archaeology & History, East Carolina University, as he discusses “Battlefield Tactics in the Revolutionary War” on Tuesday, December 5 at 7 PM.

As part of the monthly Speaker Series, which is held at The Washington Memorial Chapel, Babits will offer his unique insight into how battles were fought during America’s War for Independence. The Speaker Series is open to the public and features an array of historians, scientists, authors, archaeologists, actors and performers sharing their multiple points of view on history, the natural world and the ongoing commemoration of Valley Forge and the American Revolution in a relaxed and comfortable setting on the first Tuesday of the month from now until May. The talks are sponsored by Malvern Federal and the Sherrin H and Bruce A. Baky Foundation.

The series, which is currently in its ninth year, promises to be even more popular this year thanks to the variety of guest speakers and topics that will be covered, say Gardiner Pearson, president of the board of the Washington Memorial Heritage and Don Naimoli president of the Valley Forge Park Alliance.

Presentations are held at Washington Memorial Chapel, on Route 23 in Valley Forge, on Tuesdays at 7 PM unless otherwise noted. Suggested donation of $10 per person. A complimentary reception follows each talk.
