Three Klasko Attorneys Present at 2017 AILA EB-5 Investors Summit

Klasko partners H. Ronald Klasko, Daniel B. Lundy and Anu Nair recently participated in the 2017 American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA) EB-5 Investors Summit. Ron was a discussion leader for the panel entitled “Representing Clients in Failed or Fraudulent Projects.” Dan served as discussion leader for “Regional Center Investments: Understanding the Deal and the Capital Stack.” Anu participated on the panel entitled “Advanced Source of Funds and Path of Funds Issues.”

H. Ronald Klasko (Ron) is one of the country's leading EB-5 lawyers. Ron represents thousands of foreign investors from all around the world, over 50 approved regional centers and numerous U.S. developers and business owners who have sought his counsel in connection with using the EB-5 program to raise capital for investment projects. Ron’s counsel has included applications to designate new regional centers; applications for pre-approval of projects within regional centers; having projects adopted by existing regional centers; structuring projects to be EB-5 compliant; preparing template I-526 petitions; and advice on successfully marketing EB-5 projects. Ron has successfully represented many direct individual EB-5 investors, direct pooled EB-5 investors and regional center investors. Ron has served five terms as Chair of AILA’s EB-5 Committee. In this capacity, he has led advocacy efforts with USCIS to improve the EB-5 program. As Chair of the Best Practices Committee of IIUSA, the association of EB-5 regional centers, from 2012 to 2013, Ron worked with regional centers, developers and EB5 professionals to develop the first comprehensive list of best practices in the EB-5 industry. One of the most prolific EB-5 bloggers, Ron is a sought-after speaker and regularly speaks on EB-5 topics around the country and around the world. Ron has been interviewed by U.S. and Chinese media on numerous occasions and has been quoted in Forbes Magazine and other media on his views on EB-5 matters. A founding member of Klasko Immigration Law Partners, LLP, Ron serves as both its Managing Partner and Chair of the 25 person EB-5 Team of the firm. He has practiced immigration law exclusively for over three decades. A graduate of Lehigh University (B.A. 1971), he received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D. 1974).

Daniel B. Lundy is a Partner and a member of the Firm's EB-5 team. He leads the Regional Center/Developer Team and the Compliance Team of the firm's EB-5 practice. Dan represents established Regional Centers, clients applying for regional center designation, and developers wishing to access foreign investor capital through the EB-5 program. Dan works with securities and real estate counsel, economists and business plan writers to help structure development deals to be EB-5 compliant. Dan also represents EB-5 investors in their immigration petitions and applications. In addition, Dan also has a broad background in immigration law, including litigation and appeals in the Federal Courts, E-1/ E-2 Treaty Traders/ Investors, asylum, removal, and employment and family based visas. Dan has lectured on the EB-5 visa program or litigating immigration cases in the federal courts at numerous events, and has written several articles on the EB-5 visa program. He is a member of AILA and co-chair of the Banking Committee of the Association to Invest in the USA (IIUSA). A graduate of Hunter College (B.A., 2000), he earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law (J.D. 2006).

Anu Nair, a Partner and the firm’s Investor Team’s managing attorney, is responsible for the preparation and filing of all EB-5 Petitions, both through regional center investments and individual investment opportunities. Her command of investorrelated issues has been recognized within the field and Anu is frequently called on to review EB-5 cases prepared by other law firms to ensure compliance with USCIS’ extremely rigorous standards. firms engaged in EB-5 practice to ensure their own compliance with the extremely rigorous and ever-changing USCIS policies. She has reviewed over 300 I-526 Petitions prepared by other firms. Anu is routinely retained to respond to difficult Notices of Intent to Deny and to file appeals for denials received by other firms. Anu is a 2006 graduate of Baruch College where she majored in Biology. She went on to obtain her law degree in 2009 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she served as the Submissions Editor of the Cardozo Journal of Law and Gender. Prior to joining the Firm, Anu practiced with an immigration law firm in New York City and was an Adjunct Lecturer of Biology at Baruch College.
