The Philadelphia Eagles have hired Ryan Hammond as the Executive Director of the Eagles Autism Challenge. In her role, Hammond will oversee the strategic plan and administration of the Eagles Autism Challenge, in addition to working closely with the project team to raise awareness around autism and the work being done in Philadelphia.

The Eagles Autism Challenge is the team’s signature bike and 5K run/walk fundraising event set for Saturday, May 19.

“Ryan’s wealth of knowledge and experience is incredibly valuable and I’m confident that her skill set will serve as a great addition to the organization,” said Chairman and CEO, Jeffrey Lurie. “Her visionary leadership, passion and philanthropic approach align perfectly with what we stand for as a team and what we seek to accomplish in the field of autism.”

Hammond most recently served as the Executive Director of the Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support at Saint Joseph’s University. She went on to establish a management and organizational structure for the Center, while stewarding important fundraising relationships, building strong corporate and community partnerships, creating dynamic programs, and balancing community need with strategic growth and resources.

Under Hammond’s leadership, the Kinney Center – which trains autism professionals and supports individuals touched by autism – emerged as a strategic asset and top priority for the university. In 2017, the Kinney Center trained more than 150 undergraduates and aided 800 families through various Autism Spectrum Disorder support programs.

“I am excited to join the Eagles Autism Challenge and contribute to a landmark event that works to strengthen the quality of life for families and individuals touched by autism,” said Hammond. “I am also inspired by Jeffrey’s commitment to create a shift from autism awareness to action. Through this initiative, we will continue to advance autism research together as a community.”

Hammond began her career at Saint Joseph’s as a major gift officer in 2008 before taking on the role of lead advancement officer one year later when the Kinney Center was founded. She was then elevated to Director of Business Development for the university prior to her most recent post as the Center’s Executive Director.

She returns to the Philadelphia Eagles after previously serving as a member of the team’s premium services department from 2000-08. She began her career as an intern in 1998.

A native of Delaware County, Hammond received a Bachelor of Science degree from Neumann University and holds an Executive MBA from Saint Joseph’s University.
