Bottom Dollar Food (Food Lion) Will Open Chester, Pennsylvania’s First Grocery Store In Over A Decade
Soloff Realty & Development, Inc., announces construction commencement of a new 18,076 square foot BOTTOM DOLLAR FOOD store (Food Lion) at 15th Street & Edgmont Avenue in Chester, Pennsylvania. This full line supermarket with 74 car off-street parking will be Chester’s first grocery store in over a decade.
Bottom Dollar Food had strong support from The City of Chester including Chester’s Mayor John Linder and City Council, the Planning Department, Chester Economic Development Authority and the Delaware County Planning Commission and worked diligently to create a plan best designed to fit the neighborhood. “Bottom Dollar Food is a tremendous addition to the City of Chester” said Richard Soloff, the preferred developer for Food Lion completing the development, “and I look forward to completing this project so Bottom Dollar can bring the residents of Chester the convenience and variety of fresh, healthy food”.
In addition to local construction jobs, Bottom Dollar Food anticipates the new store will create 40-50 new jobs. The store will be open 7 days per week and Grand Opening is scheduled for early 2014.
Jackie Parker, the Executive Director of the Chester Economic Development Authority is very excited about this new addition to the City. “This neighborhood grocery store will provide healthy, affordable options for the residents within the area as well as all of Chester” stated Ms. Parker. “Bottom Dollar will be the linchpin for future economic development within the City of Chester and is an indication of the many investment opportunities here.”
The Groundbreaking Ceremony will be held on site at 15th Street & Edgmont Avenue in Chester, PA on Friday, July 26th at 11AM.
