Capital Institute for Neurosciences Opens Location in Center City, Philadelphia
New Location Joins Other Community-based Centers Providing Highly Skilled Neurosurgeons to Communities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey
The Capital Institute for Neurosciences has opened a new office location in Center City, Philadelphia, to bring experienced, highly trained brain neurosurgeons closer to Philadelphia area patients.
Located in the historic Curtis Center, the suite of outpatient offices will benefit both new and existing patients.
“Many of our neurosurgical patients are from the Philadelphia area, so we wanted to make our superior, outpatient care more convenient for them,” said Erol Veznedaroglu, MD, FACS, FAHA, FAANS, Director of the Capital Institute for Neurosciences.
The building is adjacent to Independence Mall, and the offices are conveniently located on the first floor, just steps from the indoor atrium. On-site parking is available at the building.
The Capital Institute for Neurosciences regularly receives patients from more than 80 hospitals throughout the region. It performs more brain and aneurysm surgeries than any other hospital in NJ and is one of only 8 hospitals nationwide – the only one in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware – recognized by the Joint Commission as a 2011 Top Performer for Stroke Care. The Institute also has the nation’s only emergency department solely dedicated to brain emergencies.
Providing care closer to home for many of these patients will make follow-up care more convenient. Additionally, patients who need to consult with Capital Institute for Neurosciences neurosurgeons, dual-trained in both conventional and minimally invasive surgical procedures, will benefit from local offices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania communities.
The Capital Institute for Neurosciences has New Jersey offices in Hopewell Township, Trenton, Washington Township, Hamilton and Cherry Hill. Pennsylvania offices are located in Langhorne, Pa., as well as this newest location in Center City, Philadelphia.
The Capital Institute for Neurosciences provides a complete range of neuroscience services including care involving stroke, transient ischemic attacks, aneurysm, arteriovenous malformations, Alzheimer’s Disease, traumatic brain injury, brain and spine tumors, headaches, pediatric neurology, epilepsy, muscle and movement disorders and many others.
