Grant Thornton Names Mark Stutman Chief Learning Officer

Grant Thornton LLP has named Mark Stutman as the firm’s chief learning officer. Based in the Philadelphia office, Stutman will have overall responsibility for the learning and development of Grant Thornton’s partners and personnel, with a primary focus on building the firm into a world-class, dynamic learning organization.

“Mark’s passion for mentoring and learning makes him an ideal fit for this role in our firm,” said Wayne Kaplan, Managing Partner of Grant Thornton’s Philadelphia office. “During his 38-year career with Grant Thornton, he has become a true visionary, and we look forward to his continued help in developing skilled, engaged and satisfied talent across the entire firm.”
Prior to becoming chief learning officer, Stutman served as the national managing partner of Tax Services, doubling the tax practice in personnel and revenue.  He has also served in numerous leadership positions, including as a member of the firm’s governing body, the Partnership Board; as managing partner of the Washington National Tax Office; and as a member of the National Real Estate Committee.

Stutman is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He is also a member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).

Stutman received his bachelor’s in business administration from Drexel University.  He is currently a member of the university’s Lebow School of Business Alumni Advisory Council and serves on the Board of Overseers for Drexel University Hillel.
