Wharton Takes Top Spot on Poets&Quants' Ranking of Executive MBAs

University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School has topped the PoetsandQuants’ ranking of the world’s best executive MBA programs for third time in a row. The other programs in the top 10 are Columbia Business School, New York University’s Stern School of Business, Cornell’s S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management and UT Austin’s McCombs School of Business.

The ranking measures the overall reputation of the programs by combining the four latest ratings on EMBA programs from BusinessWeek, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, and U.S. News & World Report, PoetsandQuants said.

Here’s the list of top executive MBA programs, along with excerpts from CNNMoney:

#1. Wharton - U. Penn
• 2012 rank: 1
• Total program cost: $171,360 in Philadelphia, $175,678 in San Francisco
• Format: Alternating Friday-Saturday classes, with an initial week-long meeting and a week-long international study seminar
• Length of program: 24 months

#5. Columbia Business School
• 2012 rank: 4
• Total program cost: $168,480
• Format: Alternating Friday-Saturday classes for 22 months or Saturday only classes for 25 months

#6. Stern – NYU
• 2012 rank: 5
• Total program cost: $157,000
• Format: Alternating Friday-Saturday classes, with two global study tours
• Length of program: 22 months

#9. Cornell – Johnson
• 2012 rank: 8
• Total program cost: $157,416
• Format: Alternating Saturdays and Sundays, with four one-week residencies in Ithaca
• Length of program: 22 months

#10. Univ. of Texas-Austin - McCombs
• 2012 rank: 9
• Total program cost: $89,250
• Format: Alternating Friday and Saturdays, starting with a week-long executive seminar
